Is Memory Maker Right For Your Family?
As anyone who has visited Walt Disney World knows, it is a place of memories and magical moments.memorymaker There is also no shortage of photo opportunities. Guests often take their own photos with smartphones, but there is also the option to have PhotoPass photographers capture photos of your family in iconic locations and on select rides. Memory Maker allows you to keep those priceless photos for one fee.
But is it worth the cost? Our panelists weigh in.memorymaker
For the most part, panelists say that memorymaker makes sense for a longer vacation or special occasion trip.memorymaker If your family enjoys documenting every moment, then the per-photo cost is not a problem. This product is especially great for families that plan on visiting all the character meet and greets, meals, and attractions.
However, it does not make much sense for a shorter trip.memorymaker Unless you plan on spending an extraordinary amount of time at the parks (and subsequently bringing home lots of photos), it just may not be worth it. Likewise, those traveling with young children who are not yet ready for the on-ride photos might be better off skipping this offering and simply taking their own ride photos.
Memory Maker is available for purchase 3 days or more in advance of your vacation.memorymaker The cost is $149 if purchased in advance and $169 if purchased at the parks or after your trip. Photos will remain in your account for 45 days. If you want to buy an extension, you can do that for an additional cost.
In addition to providing access to all on-ride photos, Memory Maker includes a few other fun perks.memorymaker It includes Magic Shots, which are special photo edits that are added in-park using your smart phone. And it includes PhotoPass videos, which are a fun way to see your family on some of the bigger rides like Space Mountain and Tower of Terror.
One important thing to remember is that only the person who has purchased memorymaker can add pictures to their account.memorymaker But the rest of their party can view and download them from the app. So if you are going with a large group, be sure to decide who will be the one to add pics to your account.
